My Story -

From age nine, I started rearing calves, by age ten, I bid on and successfully bought two Speckle Park steers from our local sale yards.

These experiences were like fuel on a fire, lighting up my passion towards cattle.  Over time I grew a love for Angus cattle; I was driven by their consistency and unmatchable structure. This led to starting something of my own. I purchased, a Nampara Angus cow and calf. I then went on, to continue breeding through AI and Embryo programs.

I don't come from a huge 1000-acre farm or have a massive turnover of cattle,  however I am also very lucky to have parents that stand beside my dreams and create resources that I can grow and build on.

My Research -
When making breeding decisions in your cattle or any meat industry, the end goal is to produce an animal that is going to maximize quality and profitability; Angus IS the breed for that. Then you throw Wagyu into the mix, for any breeder/meat producer Wagyu is a breed that completely amazes when it comes to carcass. Very different to Angus: they take much longer to reach target weights and don't always yield as well. However, they produce a beautiful piece of edible artwork, with an incredible taste!

My Plan -

By taking Angus and Wagyu, I'm presenting you with genetics that farmers have carefully crafted to create beauty on a plate. Barongawood Premium Beef is your chance to taste and understand that difference!
My family currently buys Angus X Wagyu cattle as weaners from local breeders, then they are finished on our farm. 

Over time my goal is to breed my own Angus X Wagyu cattle herd, continuing my passion of breeding, genetics, beauty and flavour, so that my customers can enjoy all of these things affordably.
